I went outside only in socks, and suddenly my feet stung; still in pain, there are splotches all over my feet?

I live in FL; I went barefoot outside to walk my dog real quick, and I figured it was okay to step out in the grass/weeds, but it felt like I stepped on a bunch of teeny tiny tacks or I had a million splinters. The pain is prickly, and there are red splotches on the top of my feet and white round ones like insect bites everywhere else on the undersides. I'm guessing I stepped on prickly weeds? My dog wasn't bothered. I ran cold and then hot water on my feet for a long time and then hobbled back inside to put peroxide on. How can I make the pain go away and should I be worried if this is something poisonous? I have a bunch of ants out in the yard, but I've never had anything like this; I even sat down right after my left foot flared up and nothing bit me. Does anybody know what the heck this is?

What kind of Knee injury have I got?

Wednesday before last, I fell over whilst I was running. My hands took most of the impact but I fell front faced onto my right knee whilst it was bent. There was no swelling at all but a little graze. The next day I had a sharp pain in my knee whenever I bent it. Sitting with my knee bent still doesn't hurt, but moving it does. I have been to see a doctor and they prescribed my with physiotherapy exercises to do for a fortnight, which i have been doing twice per day so far since Monday. However the pain- which feels as if its beneath the knee cap is still there and it won't go away. I have done minimal exercise and have been hobbling around because it hurts to climb the stairs. I have been researching my knee pain and I can't agree with any injuries I have read up about online since my knee doesnt give way. Does anyone think they can give me a second opinion and any further advice I should take?

Dachshund leg injury HELP!?

last night I went to hand my younger brother our male dachshund. I thought he had the dog, but he didn't and I dropped him from about 4 feet up on his back leg. He yiked about five times and stopped. It is about 8 hours later and he is still hobbling around on 3 legs. As far as we can tell there is no swelling or bleeding. He does not seem to be in great distress and we can still pet him. He has shown signs of improvement and is now putting some weight on the leg, but very little. This dog had a hip replacement before we owned him. He is about 4 years old. Is it necessary that we take him into the vet or can we wait? If he has a broken leg what would be some signs that he needs medical help?

Medical Neglect by Doctor? What should I do?

2 days ago I got out of bed and as soon as my left foot hit the floor I got a searing pain clean up my leg. The more I attempted to walk on it the worse it got. I have been taking tylenol and tramadole for the pain but neither are helping so I finally decided to go to the doctor today. I went to a quick care facility as soon as my husband got home from work. After they took 30mins to get me checked in I went back to the room where I spoke with 2 MAs about what was wrong, allergies and so on. Then the Doctor came in and did a very brief exam (less than 2 mins) then started giving me crap about how they close at 9 and it was 8:50. So she would have to see if an xray tech was still there because again they close at 9. The xray tech came and got me mins. later. As soon as I got back to the room the Doctor came in and said that because the pharmacy closes at 9 she went ahead and got me a prescription of ibuprofen, however I am highly allergic to motrin and anything that has motrin in it. Which sadly enough was in my file so she clearly didnt take the time to look at my file. She then prescribes me tamadole which I had already told her and the MA I had taken it and it wasnt helping either. Then she told me that my xrays were fine and that there was nothing wrong with the bone and the problem MIGHT BE tendenitis but she wasnt sure and suggested physical theropy which I turned down. I tried asking her a couple of questions about my foot such as if it would get better and when would the pain subside and if it would be better if I tried to putting presure on it. She told me she didnt know if it would get better or not. She wasnt concerned at all she was just to worried about getting off work she was more concerned about getting off work then my case. So now I am seeking Medical and Legal advice Is this medical neglect? And a lilttle side note because I know thatI will get some kiind of comment on it so before hand. NO I am not a drug addict and then was not a ploy for narcotics. I am in server pain and suffer thorough it daily I can only walk if I hobble ever where to do it. And I know that It sounds bad that I turned down physical theropy but im not going to waste time and money to take physical theorpy for tendenitis when shes not even sure thats what it is.

My gym class was running today, and I usually wear my Vibram FiveFingers (barefoot shoes) to run in, but I didn't have them today, so I decided to run barefoot, thinking that the experience would be the same. For some reason, after running only half a mile, my feet were beginning to blister, and now (two hours later) I cannot walk on the balls of my feet because the pain is so bad. Track started 2 weeks ago, and we practice in the gym on hardwood floors, and I'm a hurdler. I hav been working so hard this season, but my left calf has begun to hurt. It started about 3 days ago. At first it was a dull ache on my inner left calf, but it only hurt after I did a vigorous set of sprints or hurdles. My mom suggested it was shin splints. Since then it has gotten increasingly worse, even though I ice at night, at school, and at practice. The pain has moved to the front of my left shin, along the fibula, and not only is it a sharp pain during hurdling, but a slight tinge when I walk, and a throbbing ache after I stop working. It was so bad that today I had to stop working and get ice, but I could barely hobble up the stairs and had slight trouble walking, even though I wrapped my leg in an ace bandage. It seems more severe than what my teammates have explained as shin splints, and what I've read on the Internet. Tips on ways to make the pain less severe since I have my forst track meet tomorrow and I MUST run! Help?

You really need to get it checked out, maybe xrayed too. My son hurt his kneecap and it turned out he totally tore the ACL ligament. There are all kinds of things going on with a knee and considering how long it has been symptomatic, it should be checked by a doctor. I would say the original injury where you fell on your knee is probably the reason it is hurting now. Good luck

Input is 120v, Output is 9v. Someone was running across the room and snapped the cord in half. I could probably strip the plastic insulation and twist the wires back together. It snapped close to where the "black box" is. The black box part plugs directly into the wall. I was trying to strip the plastic part off, when I saw a spark when I exposed the wires. i have a trans am ws6 automatic pretty much stock except for my rebuilt tranny that has changed shift points, flowmaster exhaust, slp lid and nitto 555r drag radiails. with a professional driving and on a actual drag strip its suppose to run a 4.9 sec 0-60 and a 13.5 sec 1/4 mile stock. well i did the 0-60 test on black top and i got 5.5 sec but i only did it once. idk the 1/4 mile but i do know that my car is a bit slower on take off. i run a 0-100 in high 11 to low 12 sec. so im guessing my car will run the 1/4 mile in stock time if not a bit faster. well the thing is ive had a grinding in my rear end since i got it and im just gonna replace my stock 323 gears to 373. plus ill have to get a programmer to calibrate the speedometer and ima change it to where instaed of shifting at 6000rpm it will shift at 6500rpm hoping to get a bit more power. i also have 3 inch long tube stainless steel headers i want to put on but not sure if i will get to. but will i notice a difference with the different gears and the changee in shift points? if so how much would be your best guess. im wanting to know the performance difference cuz i alrede know gas mileage will be worse. and would the headers really help or just change to sound?

Would two Surge protectors be better to protect my phone line?

my computer and electronics are plugged into two surge protectors under my desk, one for the computer and one for the networking so that way neither strip has a ton of stuff on it. One of the protectors my phone line is plugged into it and the other is just a regular surge protector. He isn't insured, so we are trying to avoid the doctor by all means, we are not rich. Anyways, his big toe is a little swelled, red, and has puss coming out. He's been cleaning it with peroxcide. We think its caused by 1 of 2 things: An infection from ingrown toenail.....he cut the toenail, but now its like this. Or number 2 he works stripping and waxing floors.....this may have gotten through his shoe? What are your thoughts about how serious this is? 10 points...thanks!

Kitten foot injured. input?

Kitten's 8 weeks old, and is very playful. She likes to sit on my room windowsill when i'm gone. and when i come back she jumps off usually onto my bed then down to the floor. But on saturday she jumped off the window sill straight onto the floor from the other side. she's done this before without injury and seemed fine. But this time she seems to have injured her left front paw. when she landed she held up her paw and cried loudly and hobbled off to the corner. when i took her to the vet, the doc seems to think she's just stretched or sprang it. says it's very unlikely she actually broke it. gave her pain meds and said he wanted to see how she does over the weekend and to bring her back monday. that was saturday though and it occurred to me that even if it were just a sprang it'd take more than a mere day and a half to show significant improvement. so i wanted to wait a few more days. she gets around fine just a little slower. she doesn't walk on it at all. she can kind of put weight on it now, which she wasn't able to at all before. if you touch her left paw and bend it in, she doesn't fuss at all. but if you extend it straight, it begins to hurt her as it becomes almost fully straight. anyone have any input on this? and be serious please, i am a first time cat owner so talking to me like i'm an idiot is only going to irritate me. there's no point in doing that as it doesn't help the situation at all. we are all out of highschool after senior year so acting like a child is only going to make you look stupid. otherwise all mature helpful comments and answers are welcome. thanks for your time.

Medical Neglect? Whats Wrong? What should I do?

2 days ago I got out of bed and as soon as my left foot hit the floor I got a searing pain clean up my leg. The more I attempted to walk on it the worse it got. I have been taking tylenol and tramadole for the pain but neither are helping so I finally decided to go to the doctor today. I went to a quick care facility as soon as my husband got home from work. After they took 30mins to get me checked in I went back to the room where I spoke with 2 MAs about what was wrong, allergies and so on. Then the Doctor came in and did a very brief exam (less than 2 mins) then started giving me crap about how they close at 9 and it was 8:50. So she would have to see if an xray tech was still there because again they close at 9. The xray tech came and got me mins. later. As soon as I got back to the room the Doctor came in and said that because the pharmacy closes at 9 she went ahead and got me a prescription of ibuprofen, however I am highly allergic to motrin and anything that has motrin in it. Which sadly enough was in my file so she clearly didnt take the time to look at my file. She then prescribes me tamadole which I had already told her and the MA I had taken it and it wasnt helping either. Then she told me that my xrays were fine and that there was nothing wrong with the bone and the problem MIGHT BE tendenitis but she wasnt sure and suggested physical theropy which I turned down. I tried asking her a couple of questions about my foot such as if it would get better and when would the pain subside and if it would be better if I tried to putting presure on it. She told me she didnt know if it would get better or not. She wasnt concerned at all she was just to worried about getting off work she was more concerned about getting off work then my case. So now I am seeking Medical and Legal advice Is this medical neglect? And a lilttle side note because I know thatI will get some kiind of comment on it so before hand. NO I am not a drug addict and then was not a ploy for narcotics. I am in server pain and suffer thorough it daily I can only walk if I hobble ever where to do it. How do you kill a weak chicken peacefully?

I have a chicken and for the past week or two she has not been doing real well.Every time i would come home she would be laying in her tub of food. Should I lose power when the intake gasket goes bad?

I own a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, 3400 V-6, I haven't noticed much in the way of water in the oil but have ripped it apart to change the intake gasket anyways. The main problem I noticed was loss of coolant and when the car was warm, loss of power. I drove my car to a neighbouring town and on my way back had no power. What is wrong with my calf?

So on Friday night, I was sleeping when my calf got an excruciating cramp that Wouldn't go away. I was straightening my leg and whatnot, and finally after about five minutes and some tears it went away. On Saturday everything was fine, I played soccer and just stayed home. That night, my calf started to ache again. I just dealt with it and kept walking around and stuff. Then on Sunday the pain was unbearable. It was hurting whenever I put weight on it so I was limping. However I played soccer with it and during the game it didn't hurt too much. I came off the field and it felt really sore again. I came home, just layed on the couch and hobbled around the house. I got my mum to put some dencorub on it and massage it in but it didn't really do anything. Now it is Monday morning and it still hurts to put any weight on it. Do you notice that when you laugh you probably laugh in a much higher register. If you feel comfortable singing higher then you should pursue being a tenor, just because your friend can sing bass does not mean that you can instantly decide to switch. If you have gone through puberty then your voice is the result of the changes within your body and you should not feel forced to sing low if it is uncomfortable. At this point you really need to be careful with your voice, it sounds like you are approaching your high notes with a lot of tension and unless you are a trained singer you should not be belting your way up there. It might be good to sort of hit the reset button a bit and figure out where your voice lies. A tenor's voice lives somewhere around C (a low C for a guy, middle C) to a high C with proper training. A high school tenor tops out at the F below that high C before they have to switch into falsetto. Your chest voice covers the entire range of your lowest note to all the way up to you simply cannot sing higher before transitioning to either falsetto (a light pure sound) or going into passagio (which is a fancy italian word meaning basically a transition). When you listen to Pavarotti he never sings in his falsetto, he stays in his passagio which is a tucked under feeling that you will discover if you continue singing through high school and into college. I know I'm rambling, but, please do not feel pressured to sing bass, your voice has a natural and healthy position, if you really want to extend range practice vocal sighs up and down, practice range extenders for the way up and down. I think you've answered your own question. If a laptop is faster than your home pc and it includes the parts you want to upgrade to, then yes it will be faster. The Core2 series is a step up from Celeron, it has a bigger cache (celeron might not even have a L3 cache, which core2 does), and you will see a speed difference. You might also want to reinstall XP as I've heard of users having to reinstall it every so often to get it up to speed.

Should I go to the doctors for this injury?

In my soccer game this weekend, I got kicked in my right ankle twice within a minute. After this I was hobbling around for the rest of the game and I barely was able to run around. My ankle does not hurt in one specific place but more on the inside of my foot. I am in a decent amount of pain when I am not putting pressure on it, but when I am it feels like there is a knife in my ankle. I migrated my cpanel VPS to a cpanel dedicated server. And I'm not sure how to get it to resolve to the new server. All data is identical to each other. So that means I'm using the same name server names. ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com. Only that the IPs are different. The old vps is 216.44.444.44 and the dedicated is 69.55.555.55. The domain registrar NS records haven't been changed since my new server will have the same n1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com, but with a different IP. So how do i get my domain to resolve to my dedicated server?

yes, wwYd? what would YOU do?Today i was on my way to run some errands and I live about a mile from the nearest shopping center.As i was leaving my neighborhood a man who looked to be in his late 40s was standing in the street with a boot cast on his foot and with crutches at his side, he was wearing sweatpants and hadnt shaved in what seemed like two weeks. he started to wave his arms around looking pretty desperate, im not sure if it was cuz i was jamming out to the new brittney spears song and driving well over the speed limit, or because he was in need of a ride to get out of the cold. As i slowed down and hesistantly rolled my window down to see what he needed a look of relief came over his face, thinking back now it was prolly because i was the only car to have stopped to see what he needed. He was quick to point out the fact that he was wearing a boot and had crutches( as if i couldnt already see that psssh) and that he could use a ride up the street to the shopping center. I unawarely and regretably let out a loud "ummmmmmm" and he could see i was hesitant and again pushed the boot and crutches fact on me as he waved them around to try to convince me to give him a ride. As if i wasnt having a hard time deciding to give this random guy a ride a mile up to the store out of this 40 degree weather and off his seemingly broken foot he was quick to say "and i'll be needing a ride back as well." I mustered up what little since i had in my head and said "sure" not thinking about what potential dangers lied ahead. As he crutched his way around the car to the drivers side i was quick to hide my huge purse by my feet and leaned over to open his door and grab his crutches to help him in(instantly thought well if the guy seems threatening I'll just pop him off with his crutch). he politely introduced himself, " blah blah" .......yes I dont recall the name that came out of his mouth, i dont know if it was because I was in shock that i was actually picking up and giving a ride to a complete strange middle aged man, or because he reeked of alcohol. FLASHBACK the smell brought back a memeory, and I realized I had seen this man around before. As i pulled off i knew immediatly where he wanted to go, ABC......aka the liquor store. But for some reason I offered to take him to the grocery store. We made small talk the whole way there. Well I guess talking about how he hates soap operas but has become addicted to them since he broke his ankle isnt really your average small talk. Anyways the offer to the grocery store was met with a shy boyish look you know the one where a kid is offered candy by one of his parents freinds and he knows his moms watching and knows he cant be rude but he WANTS that candy so bashfully he replies "The ABC store please". we finished our soap opera talk with me saying my personal favorite wasnt any of the ones he named off that hed been watching but in fact "days of our lives". We came to a stop and he said "your gonna give me a ride back right?" i tried to lighten the mood but joking ith him and saying no im gonna make you walk back in the cold on your broken ankle. I luaghed and he gave ma nercous chuckle and asked if i wanted anything. Nope Im good I'll circle around the lot and come back for you. As he closed the door and cars that were starting to line up to wait for me to get out of the middle street from dropping him off were getting visibly impatient. The thought of leaving right then and there flashed across my mind, as i circled the lot I even pondered stopping to ask shoppers crossing the street what they would do?!! I was desperate for a way out of this akward situation. My thought process ended and I had circled all the way back in front of the abc store where the stranger came hobbling out out of. He hopped in and try to give me 10 bucks for the ride and I politely reclined . He then said well if your not gonna take that at least take this and he pulled a mini bottle of brandy out. But note that you can't get a work visa directly from a Chinese embassy in your country. What you can do is to get a tourist visa for China and when you get into the country, and get a job, your employer will change the tourist visa into a resident permit for you. It's very easy to get a teaching job there. You'll get a tourist visa probably for a month or two or three months. But before your tourist visa expires in China, you would already have got a job and your employer will take care of everything at no cost to you. You'll have a free well furnished apartment provided to you by your employer for the length of time you're employed. That's part of the employment benefits.

Veet wax strips dont work, any tips?

I put it one and take it off the right way but i doesnt pick up the hairs. Im thinking maybe after i put the strip down i should ice it or something i dont really know. And trust me the hair arent too short or too long i waited and made sure they would be the right length, just so i can try the wax strips out. Am I being paranoid or are my worries justified?

I live alone in an appartment that's in a bad neighborhood (strip club and crackhead motel beside it yards away) and about three weeks ago someone tried to break in through the window. My upstairs neighbors scarred him off but ever since then I have been extremly paranoid at night. By paranoid I mean I usually don't get to sleep before 3:00 in the morning and when I do try to sleep I sleep for a few minutes at a time and then im up at every slight noise. That usually goes on until it is daylight outside. Then I go into a deep sleep. The hospital diagnosed me with paranoid schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, and an anxiety disorder. To tell a little about my past mental state, earlier this year when I was not on meds I was convinced that members of my family where trying to murder me. Then I would have psycotic episodes involving me thinking a monster was entering my dreams and controling my actions. I honestly don't know if this paranoia I am experiencing is reasonable. I am on heavy psych meds right now and night is the only time it happens. I have resorted to desperate mesures to get to sleep and all any of it does is sidate me. That includes pot which does not make me paranoid but lazy and xanax that is not mine. The only thing that can make me sleep is if I take 2 or 3 mg of xanax with my five psych meds. Is this something my doctor needs to know about or is a moove needed. Also other than this I am doing very well with my mental state so that is why I am hesitant about telling him.

I think It is good.. It made me curious about the rest of the story, but there are a lot of extra words and statements. For example in " and made a small slit in the air near his neck, symbolizing death" I do not think you need the symbolizing death part, people can figure that out for themselves. Watch out about how many descriptive words you use, because it can become overwhelming with useless detail. also work on showing instead of telling. Besides from that I think your overall writing is good :)

Why do people run from the stench of death?

I've found that I can hobble, puke, and struggle along and people will share (sometimes feed or drive me) and talk with me so long as I don't tell them I'm dying of cancer. Once I say cancer, they're gone. The two only true friends I've ever had were my grandmother, and my father, and neither of them were my friend until they started dying of cancer. I never realized that until now. I've never run from the stench, but now I emit it, and am finding that a bit of perfume can keep me alive more than the truth. I guess that holds true on sooooooo many levels.

My childhood dog, now my grandma's dog, will be 17 this coming October. She is a terrior and has been declining with age. Yesterday, she collapsed on the driveway and after several attempts to get back up, she gave up, her hind legs just wouldn't work.... This continued on for the afternoon, but by evening she was hobbling around a little, (no stairs, enough to go to the bathroom). Is it possible that this dog had a stroke?

Barn Swallow Issues!!!?

Even if they migrate they will be back next year and so will their babies to breed. If you don't want them in yoru barn then you need to find a smelly kind of something that won't harm them but discourage them from breeding there. They have stuff like that for deer, fox, squirrel, raccoon, etc so they must have it for birds. It is non toxic and sometimes is usually just some form of a plant that the animals don't like so they stay clear. I use it around my bird sanctuary I built to keep the rabbits and squirrels away. They don't like the smell so they won't go in the sanctuary which is about a 12 x 14 foot area. It's not harmful to them or the birds but they just don't like it. I think it has some sort of hot pepper in it but you can get that from Lowes, etc so ask them what you can do to discourage birds. You can't kill them because it is against the law to kill any bird that is native to the country it is native to so if you live in the USA the only bird not native to this country that is wild is the House Finch. It was brought to the USA in the 60's to NYC to kill the pests in the park there and now they are all over the USA. All other wild bird are protected unless they are used for hunting and then you can only kill them with a lisence and during that season of hunting like the pheasant and the turkey. Good luck.

How do I know if I really did do something to my knee or if it's something that can heal itself over time?

So I'm a dancer and a gymnast... though ancient in both of those worlds since I'm in my mid 20's. Anyway, it's not been about 2 months since I injured my knee at the recital and it doesn't seem to be getting better (or worse!). What happened was I had done what's called a Front Walkover (perfectly) and when I landed I heard my knee pop! And afterwards I couldn't even get back up to finish my dance (gym) routine for the recital. I couldn't put any pressure on it whatsoever! I put ice on it once I got off stage for a bit and then hobbled to the car and went home (I wasn't driving my boyfriend was thankfully). Once I got to his place, I elevated it and put ice on it once again. I did that for the first few days. I also been wearing a knee brace (the kind you can just buy at walmart.). Without it I hobble significantly more then without it, but even with it, it's still difficult to really walk on it properly as well as put normal pressure on it. Is there anything really I can do about it???
