Horse section: Your opinion on breeding hobbles?

the reason you hear people claim hobbles are cruel is because they feel if the mare is kicking at the stud and you hobble her legs together, she is being raped. those people dont realize that a mare in heat wants to breed. as people we interrupt the natural courtship process to keep the valuable stud safe. even a mare in heat in the wild will tease and fight off the stud for a few days before giving in. No i dont think hobbles are cruel, they protect stallions from getting hurt thats it.
