Which Horse Shoe Material?

Have a good reputable farrier check the horses feet and recommend a shoe for the horse as a farrier who has knowledge of the problems can make a good knowledgeable recommendation. Even as a retired Farrier with out seeing the hoof and knowing the cause of the problems I would not attempt to recommend any type of shoe, kinda like writing a prescription with out knowing the problem.
